TTT, it does matter.   Civilians are often the victims of war - that's unavoidable - but targeting them specially isn't war.

The Israelis claim that as they deal with Hamas there will be unavoidable civilian casualties. There will, indeed. There's nearly 20,000 of them

at the last count.

They might also have an ulterior motive. If the could drive the Palestinians into Egypt they'd have more land to settle and then they could turn their attention to clearing out the West Bank.

sandyRoe, firstly, Egypt doesn't want them - no one wants them - and secondly how do you think your suggestion would pan out in reality?  What would happen to Jerusalem and the mosque there?  The fallout in the Arab world would be unthinkable.
