12.39 Cummings is what he is a disgraced strategist and along with Boris a complete liar. If Sunak needs someone like him to guide him through a GE victoy, it don't say a lot for Sunak.

I think what you need to bear in mind about Cummings is that he needed Johnson's support in the referendum: similarly Johnson needed Cummings to deliver a "Leave" vote, Johnson having after some apparent indecision, having come down very firmly on that side. So the two were sort of joined at the hip in some unholy way - beholden to each other. The bottom line is tho that DC does have a track record on delivery and it's quite likely that any relationship with Sunak would be a little more "Wholesome". Anway, Brexit was probably a piece of cake comapred to trying to turn round the Tories' fortunes. If I was Sunak I'd get a load of people dressed as Somalis and Afghans and put them on a charter to Kigali. Might be his only hope ...
