There are about twelve million reasons to investigate if reports are accurate.
Of course vested interests are in play so, nothing to see here, no sweat.

Andrew's alleged pecadillos in another country are well known to the Met and the rest of the world. No request made for extradition by the U.S.. What is underage sex in the U.S. is not over here. No crime committed in the UK. Why should the Met get involved?
I'm no conspiracy theorist, but I do think Gulliver makes a fair point. The 'establishment' does appear to be protected (get away with things?) that mere plebs like me wouldn't be/couldn't get away with.
My wife and I have just finished watching the sub-postmaster disgrace, which was first class TV, and I'm astonished there haven't been criminal prosecutions against people in the PO and Fujitsu.
retro, I haven't been following the story; but according to the Guardian the newly releasedf documents contain allegations the the Duke misbehaved with an underage girl in Maxwell's flat in London.
The allegations may be untrue, but I'd prefer them to be found untrue after an investigation rather than without one.
Why do so many people have it in for Prince Andrew?
I guess it's because he has always come across as a bit snooty and awkward, but that is no excuse for this ongoing witchhunt against him. Randy Andy, air miles Andy.
Did he fondle someone's breast? Has this never happened to thousands of girls at drunken parties, did they go to the police to report it? No, but what if it was someone famous, well that's a different matter.
I'm sick and tired of these so-called Royal reporters and journalists who think he should be thrown in the tower for the rest of his life.
They said he wouldn't be allowed to walk to church with the other Royals as he would be booed. Was he booed? I didn't hear anyone booing.
So, he knew Epstein, what about King Charles and Jimmy Saville who was even given a knighthood?
Was he questioned about that? Was that splashed all over the papers? No.
I can't tell you how this story really ****** me off.
//Why do so many people have it in for Prince Andrew?//
Because he seems like an arrogant, entitled, dishonest, and unpleasant person. Not someone you'd shed many tears for when they find themselves in a pickle.
Nothing to do with being royal. Most of the royals seem quite likeable, whether you believe in the institution or not.

Have you met him, do you know him well?
Besides, just because you don't like someone doesn't mean others have to say what they think should happen to him because he was a naughty boy all those years ago.
These journalists are looking for every little thing he did all those years ago. Bring in the MET, bring in the FBI, shoot the blaggard. Really gets on my nerves.
Have you met him, do you know him well?
My OH did a few times and didn't like him. He also got a lot of stick for being a jet-setter with a nebulous job about being an ambassador for business but actually my OH said he did that very well: Like his mother he had a great memory for names, faces and jobs and was really good at getting people together who could help each other's business.
My own feeling however is that royals ought to be better than us because that's what we're paying them to be.
