Just heard that at one point the vile Vennells was in the running to become Bishop of London - third most senior position in the Church of England.  Utterly mind-boggling!

Yep un-effing-believable. She was even preaching in church knowing that innocents were in jail because of her organisation. Christian values? pah!

but I also heard her distinguished career of service for church and state had been put on hold for a period of ....reflection and perhaps .... repentance

I find that hard to believe, she was ordained in 2006 and only ever had a non-stipendary minister so never had a salary.

IF she believed the reassurances, and I believe she did,

then when she was er ....  converted (to they are a crowd of damned liars) she wd have been as shocked, disgusted and er dismayed as we were.

Just on BBC lunchtime news that vennels is to hand back her CBE. Its a start  maybe, hopefully more consequences to come

The Archbishop of Canterbury pushed her application and was seen as a supporter of her, two of the sources added.

of course - what do Bishops do? Are they very holy or do they need admin ability to run a diocese? - and she had business experience ( = can run a diocese)

I expect they will try to blame everything on Fujitsu. The government may go along with this, as Fujitsu has more money available for compensation claims.
