\\The 75-year-old monarch's condition is benign but his public engagements will be postponed while he recuperates after the corrective procedure in a few days,//

^^ I dont think its worry about the treatment, more like putting off going because of being told the worst.

Naomi24@17:01 Thank you

A friend had REZUM treatment recently for enlarged prostate. Paid £5,500 on his credit card to go private - 2 years wait on NHS.

davebro, yes, I just asked today about a painful ingrown toenail and was told the NHS queue was a year long. Fortunately the chiropodist down the road only asked £50. I'm starting to wonder what you can get quickly these days.

You can get anything quickly if you have a big fat wallet. What hacks me off is all these ads on tv that government put out about, if your worried about this or that get checked. The get checked spin is to make you believe that everything is working well within the NHS and local health care. BS.

Man aged over 60 has treatment for enlarged prostate shocker.

This is the difference between the late Queen and the monarchy we have now. King Charles is being more at ease telling his subjects what is actually happening whereas before, we would all be guessing.

What stomach surgery can Kate have had that would require her to stay in hospital for 2 weeks and cancel all engagements till after Easter?  Must be pretty serious.

It's not relevant to anything though. Who cares that the King is having a minor procedure?

My previous to Barsel. As regards Kate, it should be private really.

Well tomus , I think our late Queen would find it a rather personal issue.

Yes of course it should be private, but by doing that, people will speculate. Now we are thinking what on earth could be wrong if she has to stay in hospital for that length of time?

The king will have done to him what the Conservative government is doing to the country!

//Now we are thinking what on earth could be wrong if she has to stay in hospital for that length of time?//

We're only thinking that because it's in the news. Unless it affects anything outside of their lives, her health issues should be private, just as yours and mine are.

tommus, that's what I said.

OK. I see that now Barsel. Misread it.

I must say that the care I have received for my benign enlarged prostate has been first class.  I was on holiday when the problem started and I phoned 111 in agony early on the Saturday morning.  Within 2 hours I was being examined in the local hospital, the immediate problem dealt with, blood tests taken, scan done, MRI arranged.

Drugs prescribed, regular follow up appointments.  Really could not have received better treatment.

If anyone was going to be pro state it would be a king.

I think it's really good he's been so open about having prostate problems, it may just encourage some men to get checked out, which can only be a good thing.

Totally agree, Vagus
