As a pensioner the budget has made no difference at all to our financies. The chancellor clearly cares nothing about the grey vote.

Absolutely nothing in it for pensioners who have made provision for retirement. He probably thinks the triple lock has secured our votes!

whether or not i personally am better off is less important to me than whether or not it is actually good for the country... the government is not there for me personally or any one individual it is there to govern 

our infrastructure is rubbish we have terrible public services and huge numbers of people who are stuck between stagnant earnings and soaring living costs... hunt is not capable of solving any of our economy's serious issues because he is either out of touch or doesn't care. the same is true for labour who really have no ideas. 
 

we do not have anyone in our politics who is serious about actually running a country. it's all short-term careerists and wealthy individuals who think everything is going great. well it isn't and everyone knows it. our political class is not equal to the task of running this country.

12:34, I agree with most of that, the problem is that the change that is needed will need more than one parliament in which to do it. The last time this happened was from 1979, it took 3 terms to turn the country round and thankfully enough people endured to make it happen. The problem now is that the public are fickle and cannot often look beyond their own welfare and the bottle goes. Even when TGL was forcing the much need medicine on the patient in the 80s the gutless wets were bricking it. So yes untitled, it may shock you but I do largely agree.

I'm a winner.

 

I won't be booking holidays anytime on the amount of the win, but given the amount I pay in tax, which is way too much (I am much more sensible in spending MY money than any Govt is) anything I get back is welcome.

 

I couldn't care any less if I tried about those that lose out - that's a them problem not a my problem.
