If they are fleeing an unsafe homeland then they have ensured the safety of their children as soon as they reached Germany and France. The Father has the brass to talk about Morals. He knew he was abeting an illegal act otherwise he wouldn't of paid people smugglers. No sympathy for him because his selfishness will haunt him to the grave I hope.
I have said all along that the problem is the people smugglers. They are criminals who exploit the vulnerable immigrants. They make it easier (icluding at a vast expense to the immigrants) for the immigrants to move around. The governments in Europe should be hunting down the smugglers, and the people movements would diminish to a lesser amount.
So it's all out fault in gromit land. Right oh! The same gromit that objects to every proposed solution and then moans that there is still a problem!
Webbo is bang on, the only person to blame is the dozy Lady who left a safe country with her kid to try and get across one of the most dangerous stretches of water in the world by strapping her and the kid to what is little more than a car inner tube.
It is the parents'/guardians' fault, however turning on the evil smugglers is no bad thing. Something needs to put them out of action, and clearly the French authorities aren't interested.
The threat of Rwanda isn't going to work until the spoilers and downsayers stop preventing it. While illegals see their friends in this country encouraging them to risk the journey they will be tempted and foolish enough to try. If you want to blame someone here then look at those continually claiming deportation isn't a deterant so must be stopped at all costs.
This is a tragedy of course, but blaming the people smugglers is like blaming water for being wet.
The parents knew the deal, and the risks when the embarked on their journey, and tragically, the risks have come to fruition.
I understand them wanting to vent their grief for their tragic loss, but blaming the smugglers is simply not valid, especially if, as advised, they plan to try again.
In that case, their blame for the people smugglers is not as intense and longasting as they appear to suggest.
