So why do a lot of people not of people feel unrecognised ?

NAOMI, the latest ONS figures for marriages in England and Wales, from 2020, show only fifteen per cent of opposite-sex marriages were religious.

Even if half of that percentage were  non-religious folk, that would represent only 7.5% of opposite-sex marriages.
