Just like smart motorways then.

No entirely, 'Smart' motorways kill.

I have them - no problems so far. It's just a fact of modern life that everyone will eventually have to come to terms with.

Err   ...    I think I was posting warnings way before that.

My smart meter saves me money. Very cheap electricity between midnight and five am to change my car.

.. charge..

I would have though that our op would have loved the idea of smart meters anyway. They are after all one of the eeyoo's benchmark directives. Another control and surveilance agenda tool for the control freaks.

Over ten years of having a smart meter, only problem I had was (after ten years) it wasn't connecting to the actual meters... still could top them up using card... engineer fitted a booster antenna on both meters job sorted.

The better question should be who's dumb enough not to have one fitted.

hoppy never seems to miss a chance to big up his leccy jamjar😁

Mine's fine - can't be doing with the negative hype. I just love this brave new world and if there isn't an app for it I don't want it.

I love my jamjar

A "smart" meter doesn't save you money, the supplier simply adjusts the tariffs to bribe folk to have what they want them to have. It is the supplier that opts to charge others more, not the meter. It was much the same when the evil idea of DD came out.

You think that will last? When they are not receiving revenue from pertrol/DERV where do you think they will look.

Straight at your EV me old china, thats where.

Leccy jam jars are for posers and showboaters. There's no need for them whatsoever. I can't imagine why anyone would want one.

As for smart meters, I keep getting badgered by the leccy co. to get one; text messages; emails; letters and I'm always telling them to stop badgering me about them. I've even considered reporting them to the police for harassment and I've tried reporting the text messages as spam. And still they come!

I should have known better. Internet and phone reception in my area is not good but they pestered me to get one so i gave in and got one, and surprise surprise it does not work. The costs of the smart meter roll out must be big.
