no tora i do not think we are the worst country in the world. i think we are a very badly governed one and that we aren't likely to become a well-governed one anytime soon... i also think that poor government inflicts needless misery and suffering 

i would much rather live here than russia or israel or syria or egypt or iran... i feel very sorry for people who have the misfortune to come from those places. i think japan is a fellow island nation which has more than a few things to teach us and i would much rather this country look a bit more like denmark or norway in certain ways than it currently does. i truly am not a radical lefty or anything like that... i just want this country's rulers to stop running it into the ground.
