in criminal law, this has been tried - "you have to be mad for arson - no one sets fire to a building and stands around waiting to be arrested" - Judges didnt like it - - may be mad but not mad enough
Jesus he had a big one.... big sword you dirty boys - looked like a scimitar or one of the swords the Turks carried around 1650-1700
I am sure the injured p'licemen are asking - why did TAU shoot him?

The rules of engagement for armed police is that they can shoot any person who is a likely threat or has caused death or injury with a weapon. That includes protecting their own lives and that of others.A weapon is not solely confined to firearms but can include, bladed weapons ,petrol bombs, baseball bats etc etc.. Any thing used in a lethal manner.
I can't believe people think the police should have shot this guy dead.
Ya shoot a mayd dawg doncha?
Considering two police were hurt I am amazed they didnt shoot him. BUT - it took 20 min to arrive ( unlike London Bridge when it was 45 s innit - knife only and didnt he get shot?) - and Hungerford ( 3 days).
