In WW2 terms we are in 1933, when TGM urged action to stop Germany. It would have been over in a few weeks and WW2 would have been prevented. But no, the handwringers and trobiscites ignored it and refused a short fight for long term peace. In the end it became so bad that even they had to accept it was time to fight so it was a much much bigger fight. Fast forward to 2024 and we are in the same position except we are under the threat of a far worse tyranny than they faced back then. Will we let history repeat itself and thus make the fight much harder that it will be in the future? There is time to prevent Britainistan if we act now. Why don't we?
Firstly, I think you are being overly alarmist if you really imagine that the perceived threat from Islam equates to that of the Third Reich.
But more importantly, the world is a far more aware and sophisticated place that it was so far in the past.
People are much more aware of the wider world, and their place in it, so the idea that history will repeat itself in exactly the same way is so unlikely as to be dismissed.
History is not a train on a track, destined only ever to go one way and reach a predetermined destination.
It is a boat on the sea, and the wind and tides of the world will take it where it goes, and no-one can forsee that.
History, by definition, is looking at the past, but that does not mean that it also predicts the future - that will always remain to be seen.
History is not a train on a track, destined only ever to go one way and reach a predetermined destination. - = = =oh whig theory of the course of history. I prefer: the only lesson that history teaches us, is: there are no lessons from history ( Maurriac/Maurois ish)
It is a boat on the sea, and the wind and tides of the world will take it where it goes, and no-one can forsee that.
oh Creon in Antigone: Gentlemen, our ship of state, which the gods threatened to. Wreck in a sea of havoc, has returned to its proper course.... ( er and I am taking charge)
17:50, yes but can you see the parallel here? If we'd have tackled Hitler in the 1930s it would have taken a few weeks and we'd have prevented WW2. I think we are in the same position now regarding Islamification. The longer we wait to address the problem the more costly and difficlut it will be. Surely you can see the point I am making.
