If cattle are no longer being fed the meat and bonemeal where the BSE causing prions were, why are cows still getting infected at all ?

Classical can transfer to humans who eat the meat. Scientists believe atypical occurs spontaneously and is not passed on to humans. This is the fifth case of classical BSE to be discovered in the UK in 10 years.

The Beeb's understanding of science ( and BSE) is very poor. A savvy reporter really needs to read the path report.Some hope.

yes. Polish and they have the gran-daydee case - "chez le chevre" - in 1820 and in French, ( therefore occurred in France).

I suggest following the cases back ( to find futher information) is a useless pursuit
