OK, where have I called someone dusky then smarta*se?

it's actually true if you bother to look up any serious attempt to measure it... you are still much safer in london than you are in new york for example though both are huge cities and you will find serious crimes in both

i would kindly suggest that we should approach the problem as it actually is rather than what it isn't... and the truth is that while london suffers from many problems it is still quite a desirable place to live and that is why most people who live here don't "vote with their feet"

LOL it's hidden in your racist posts.

Don't have to be a smarta*se to see that

It may not be as bad as portrayed but I do think people should take more care.

e.g. I would not be driving a flash car in London with the doors unlocked, I would not be wearing a gold Rolex worth £1000s or carrying an obviously expensive designer bag, I would not be walking in the street with a phone in my hand & be unaware of what was going on around me. Just common sense.

Davebro @ 08.33. I wouldn't do any of those things anywhere!

no - but people obviously do & the scrotes take advantage...

Fight back, start with slaying a few of the scum and see where it leads. So much cheaper for the country than arrest, trial and punishment and more satisfying as a result.

Give citizens the right to mob and maybe this goes away.

The other way has been tried, and failed.

Gromit's stance seems to be that people are criticisng Khan not for his record as Mayor, which is poor, but because of his skin colour. Gromit's point was poor and was used to stifle debate. It is perfectly legitimate to criticise Khan and it is wrong to lazily accuse people of racism for doing so.

The question I want answering is why were these victims in London at 7am on a Sunday morning?

Funny how it's the trobiscites that always bring race into these disucssions isn't it. Gromit, then jno! Then they use that to have a go at others.

I think we should wait til we get the full story before we make aspersions!

why shouldnt people be in london at 7am?

bit odd that the muggers were up so early....

TORATORATORA, "Funny how it's the trobiscites that always bring race into these disucssions isn't it."

Was your first post in this thread, "Khan's Londonistan! wonderful." not racist?

I live in London (OK, a nice part) and I wear a Rolex.  I have no problems wearing it on public transport when I go out at night.  I might think twice in the summer when I wear short sleeves because it is on display.  I never wear the watch on holiday (apart from safe countries like the UAE where I know it's not going to be nicked) If you you think London is unsafe, try going to Rio, Mexico City.  Much as I love those places, you put your dollars down your socks there and take mugging money with you.  Maybe get some perspective

And those of you who mention the East End and Peckahm well, they were always *** holes

^but not nearly as much as they are now.

South London is the risky area now.

My granddaughter is at UCL and is renting a flat in E2.  I do worry about her.

Ladybirder, I wouldn't worry about it.  My friend's neice lived in Mile End for a year on a placement after uni and had a great time.  Went back to Cheltenham and got mugged.  It can happen anywhere.
