I get odd smells from my neighbours sometimes but I accept that I cannot expect them to curtail their activities. So why do the vegan fascists, expect it? There was a video of one having a go at someone eating on a bus the other day. What gives them the right to think they can boss people about?

Eating on public transport is disgusting, no matter what someons religion/eating preferences.

And a big difference eating in your own home to in Public (in a confined space).

Not many stiff upper lips around any more, ToraToraTora.

One wonders where the line is drawn.

You'd never credit the fuss I got simply because my manure pile was ripening on the patio !

gromit 13:02, yes thanks, apologies, it was a Ramadan thing. I'm getting my loony tunes groups mixed up.

only thing that sort of irks me, is neighbors bbq cheap burgers, you can smell the filler, not like good rib eye or porter house, other then that i don't give monkeys, one slight annoyance is hearing the latest chart music, all sounds the same with robotic voices, my 60's 70's rock maybe an anathema to them.

Get real - my neighbours for several years (thankfully gone) were known locally as "The Clampets". They had a 3 piece suite in their back yard! I had a few run-ins with them but it never came to blows. Live with it or move.

but vegans do have the moral high ground -

if all the population of the UK (or failing "all", a majority) were to adopt a vegan lifestyle, the effect on the country's carbon footprint would be significant.......

Our nation has no need to effect it's carbon footprint further. There are other nations who would do well reach our level. And life needs to be valued not so restricted that depression is the normal state of a citizen's mind.

16:55, perlease, if our footprint was zero it would make no difference to the world. We are omnivores look at your teeth, end of.

Yes it would increase considerably.

There would be the transport required to ferry them to and from various medical establishments when they become ill through a poor diet. There would be the emissions from the factories producing the dietry supplements necessary to avoid those illnesses. Finally there would be the additional emissions from crematoriums overloaded with their bodies after they have succumbed to such a ridiculous lifestyle.

And I'm only partly joking. As above this country has no need to reduce its "carbon footprint" any  further than it already has and encouraging people to adopt an unhealthy and inappropriate diet in order that it might is unwise.

Far more beneficial in that respect would be for the better the vegans (including this sactimonious couple) to take themselves off to Beijing and lobby the authorities there to stop burning more coal than te rest of the world put together. In factt they don't need to go that far. They could go on a tour of Germany and Poland and have a go at ther governments.  They burn 45% and 20% (respectively) of all the coal burned in Europe (the UK burns less than 1%). The vegans may stand a better chance of returning from there than China.
