Sunak is leading Tories to an election wipeout. But he can't see it. After the first 10days of the election trail and Rishi travelling the length and breadth of the UK by plane train and helicopter his party's prospects at the ballot box come july 4th have not shifted .

The view of pollsters, political scientists and Tory campaign veterans from elections past is that Sunak despite his best efforts is on course to lead the Conservatives to the worst result in more than a generation including the landslide defeat suffered in 1997

Question Author

"Wipeout" was the one word answer used by a Political Research Director at Savanta when asked what the present polling figures pointed to for the Tories.

Question Author

Despite the noise surrounding a lot of the different polls during the start of the campaign they are now showing there is no significant change and the Tories are still limping and hobbling along well behind Labour.

Gulliver, if all you want to do is put out statements, and then add more of the same, why don't you email them to yourself and stop cluttering up the site with them.

That will free up space for people who actually want to ask questions, and get answers, not bore everyone to death day in day out.

It doesn't matter what any poll says, any and all party leaders must adopt the position of a potential winner.

What else would you expect them to do.

if only there was a mod who cold remove repeat troll threads.

14.16 AH. But anti Labour posts are allowed though Andy Because they are not boring to the 95% of Ab members who are Tory supporters.

Gulliver - I'm not getting into a discussion with you about what is 'allowed' or not, I suggest you contact the Editor and discuss it there.

I wonder what Gully would say if Rishi squeeked back with a slender working majority. Maybe Dignityass.

The Tories won't be wiped out. They currently have a huge majority. Even if they lose many seats, they will still have 250ish seats. As election day gets nearer, the poll ratings will get closer.
My prediction is that it will be pretty close, a small majority for Labour, or a hung parliament with Labour having the most seats but just short of 326.

Paul 16.23 Wouldn't bother me in the least. I don't live in the UK .So I would not suffer the pain of living under another Tory Govt Good luck to you if they do win. But just don't get ill unless you have plenty of money .

Question Author

Gromit 16.42 Seems you have more faith in theTories than their own MPs who are jumping ship Quicker than the time it takes for Boris to tuck his shirt in.

I will say this very quickly, so that I can free up space for people who want to ask questions and get answers without me boring people to death day in day out .But a simple average of all polls was carried out during the seven days up to may 31st That puts Labour on 45% Cons on 24% .

Question Author

Polling figures were taken from Deltapoll,Ipsos ,JL Partners ,More in Common,Opinium,Redfield Wilton ,Savanta,Survation ,TechneUK .We think and YouGov. OK.

50% of the posts at the moment have been by Gulliver.

It's probably best to ignore his posts from now on and then he can chat to himself and exult in peace.

Jourdain2 @20.11.  My problem is that as soon as I see the author of an entry is Gulliver, I do not open it and move on.  I have not personally got a political affiliation like his, but he is obsessive.  But every so often he says something so irritating I just have to take a look.  Oh why do I do this to myself?
