Speculation (hope) that he is standing for parliament.

Chingford and Woodford Green would be a good target seat. Tories only have 1,262 majority, and Labour have just de-selected their candidate and parachuted a Starmer ally in.

Might be winnable for Reform.

I can't see that would be considered an 'emergency'.  If he's standing for election rather than make a drama of it why not just say so?

At least it might stir things up - I'm bored with the whole thing already

"emergency"?
what a narcissist

He's going to announce that Trump has asked him to be his running mate in the US election🤣

I really hope he does stand & wins the seat. Then Reform UK (& the country) would have at least two formidable MPs in the House; Farage & Lee Anderson punching well above their weight.

He is playing the media and wniding the left up Naomi.  And looking on here it works!

Most successful politician ever, apparently. :D

I dont know about ever, but he has certainly been more succesful than most in achieving his aims.

//Most successful politician ever//

Stood for parliament 7 times and lost 7 times – on one occasion, to a man dressed as a dolphin.

Be good if we could have 3 coherent parties - Left/Right/Centre instead of just the LINOs & TINOs with their wishy-washy policies & internal feuding.

Hymie, he changed the direction of the whole country in a major way.

And you should know that!

I tell you what, instaed of sitting on here whining all the time why dont you put up for election?

The Sour grapes party maybe and then see how you do?

// He is playing the media and wniding the left up //

He is no threat to the left, it is the right he appeals to.

If he becomes Reform party leader, he gets to paricipate in the televised debates. Would do the party more good than Tice trying to do it.

He should be a threat to any and all, 'promise everything do nothing useful' parties.

his stated aim has been to take over and absorb the conservative party in imitation of what happened to the conservative party of canada...

looking at what happened to that party's recent electoral history i wish him luck!

//He is no threat to the left, it is the right he appeals to.//

Doesnt mean he doesnt like winding up the liberal left.  It has nothing to do with 'threats'

"In a somewhat staid contest between Sunak and Starmer, there is an obvious vacuum for a colourful character like Farage to fill. Five years ago, Farage was overshadowed by Boris Johnson’s presence; now there’s no such challenger. The Electoral Commission deadline for candidates is 4 p.m. on Friday meaning he still has four days to find a seat. Farage knows better than most the perils of the first-past-the-post system, having stood and lost to parliament on seven occasions. But Reform, which is polling at around 11 per cent, does have concentrated pockets of support – especially if Farage is the local candidate on the ballot. One survey in January commissioned by former Ukip bankroller Arron Banks suggested that Farage would win 37 per cent of the vote in Clacton in Essex, beating the Tory incumbent there by ten percentage points.

Two further obstacles could stand in the way of a Farage candidacy. The first are his fears that he could be constrained by tying himself to one single constituency. He speaks bitterly of the 2015 election, when the Tories threw everything at him in South Thanet and he has little desire to spend hours door-knocking himself. Yet there’s no iron rule which means Farage would have to spend the entirety of the next five weeks in somewhere like Clacton or Hartlepool. Indeed, it could help dispel the arguments of broadcasters who claim that Farage ought not to be given airtime as he is not a candidate in this election......"

Seeing a lack of concrete information I wonder if this could be a typo re Mr F's experiment with Viagra.

Probably that he's not standing as he's making arraingements to accompany his mate, Trump, to a NY state penitentiary for a protracted holiday.

has farage been suffering for lack of airtime? good grief i hadn't noticed. will he not be satisfied until every arm of broadcasting in our nation is devoted to him? 🙄

"Stood for parliament 7 times and lost 7 times – on one occasion, to a man dressed as a dolphin." - that's what those who do not understand politics say. He managed to force another party to achieve his aim for him without ever entering parliament. It's about getting your own way not the baubles on the way.
