I think you can guess the answer you will get on AB. Grant Shapps thinks it is a bad idea for any party to get one. What did he think about the Tory majority in 2019?

Typically, a supermajority is either 60% or 66.67% - in this case, I would say of MPs rather than votes.

If they have a working majority that enables them to implement their policies surely that's enough? Is +150 any better or worse than +50?

So I'd say either 390 or 434 MPs ...

No-one should be getting complacent about a Labour victory. I think it's nailed on that they will win all the red wall seats back. That's a start. They seem to have momentum just now, so let's see if they maintain it, which I hope they do.

// They seem to have momentum just now //

OMG please, not the return of Jon Lansman......

Nothing to do with his momentum, but they do have it just now!

Any clear majority is enough to govern.

I suppose the only thing about having a very big one is you never have to worry about back bench rebellions etc.

It is a bad thing if any party secured one. They end up having to be their own opposition and the cabinet uses & abuses as suits them.

It would make my day to bring Farage down,to bring Corbyn down,to bring Flynn down,to bring Galloway down.I will do my best to bring the MP for Gaza Central(Flynn)down. You others have to do the rest.

T.b.h. any large majority is 'a bad thing'.  I posted as much when Boris and the Tories last won.  Reason is that it breeds complacency and frees the weirder elements to push otherwise unachievable laws.  So, yes, it would be bad news in that no-one could provide any opposition to the wilder elements.  Power goes to their heads.  (Politicians generally.)

None of these will have much influence if elected. You are just being vindictive.

Johnson had a huge majority, look where it got him.  And any more than the 80 he had might look good in the Press but as said above time and time again (with all party's) complacency creeps in and down goes the ship.

We shall see though.
