None of the reporting on this incident is accurate, the poor animal was rammed by the Police in Raleigh Road in Feltham Middlesex, not Surrey and was supposed to have escaped from a field in Staines Moor which is nearly five miles away from Feltham.

What would the reaction be if this was the headline - 'Police have been criticised for refusing to act when a young and quick calf ran amok in a London suburb. A spokesman was believed to say that it is not the role of police to use vehicles to coral cattle.  A vet should have been summoned.'

Not really. Humane death of food animals at the appropriate time is very different from deliberately causing pain & distress due to not being bothered to fo a job properly. If the slaughter situation isn't stress/pain free then a visit from the inspectors seems in order.
