Maybe had their chips.

Question Author

I will give them a try 🤷🏼

I can't even find a photo of a jar of Branston pickled onions.

Mizkan bought out Branston, Sarson and Haywards years ago, maybe they decided to focus the Hayward name on pickled onions.

I don't recall Branston making pickled onions

Haywards don't do pickled onions now according to the website.

Shaw's of Huddersfield did very good pickled Onions and Beetroot, but no more. Not having been in a fish and chips shop for years, does anyone still do pickled eggs?

Believe it or not, I recently bought Haywards pickled onions in Thailand! My favourites were always Garners but we can't get them here, although we can get other Baxter's products.

Can get Branston pickle, Branston baked beans, but have never seen Branston Pickled Onions!

Isn't £3.90 for a smallish jar a bit expensive?

Or maybe not in these days.

I have started using Tesco own brand for just over a pound and find them nice and tangy.

Pickled eggs getting difficult to find, I usually get them in the 'poundland' type shops at £1.59 a jar containing 4 eggs, who would have thought a pickled egg would ever become a luxury foodstuff,  do enjoy them though!!

I make my own pickled onions, chutneys and piccalilli, my mother did the same.  So easy to do

Sorry about posting 'pickles'...I wasn't paying attention to what Google delivered.

Barney pickled eggs are easy to make yourself. Buy normal white vinegar boil your eggs,  put in a jar or Tupperware and pour over vinegar. Depending how strong you like them they will be ready to eat in a couple of days

Are you thinking of Baxter's pickled onions rather than Branstons?

I used to buy pickled eggs regularly, and what intrigued me was how often it elicited a comment from the supermarket checkout operator.  My local Chippie still provides them.

Gotta be Garners for me, wouldn't buy any other. I don't think Branstons ever made them, as Auntypoll says, I feel you may be thinking of Baxters.

Fochabers!

Is where Baxters are based.

Duggie, Fochabers, really??? Is that just what you think? 🤣🤣 Or is it a real place/thing? 😉

Oh it's a real place alright, very scenic and a great factory shop if you can prise a pass from the guys on security. 😁
