If USA, India and China aren't going then it's pointless. It's just a beano for the leaders to try and see who can pointlessly bankrupt their country the quickest.

tomus: "We don't have coal, oil or gas." - we have plenty of all of those. We have abundant sources of energy, that's not the issue. It's this obsession with net zero that's killing us. I agree we should be using more nuclear, much more, but we should not be so obsessive about not using fossil fuels either. When China opens one new coal station every 10 days why are we having convulsions about a tiny fraction of that usage?

Where are our coal, oil and gas supplies?

Before you say under the ground, I would remind you that TGL shut that all down because it couldn't be extracted profitably.

We live on an island of coal, the surrounding sea is full of oil and gas. Fossil fuel is everywhere, availability is not the problem. Our problem is political dipstickery.

So TGL was wrong to shut down the coal industry then. Political dipstickery was it? Gawd elp us.

Good luck reopening the coal mines. Especially without boat people that will work for nothing.

23:39 don't turn this into an anti TGL fest, she was last in power 34 years ago and anyway Labour shut the most mines down. That's ancient history. The coal is still under our feet we can create now mines and open existing ones where possible. Oil and gas are under the sea and land all around. I am just answering your rather silly statement that "we have no coal, oil or gas". I don't suggest we major on fossil fuels bit we should not be terrified of using it when it's the most cost effective.

Question Author

political dipstickery is what Labour and the Tories have been doing, bankrupting us chasing this whole "net zero" rowlocks. Actual zero will make no difference let alone net zero. TGL would have seen right through that rubbish.

I refer you to my previous comment - good luck reopening the coal mines.

Wind. Waves, nuclear is what we've got.

Get used to to self driving cars as well. It's all happening like it or not 😄

//We don't have coal, oil or gas.//

What a bizzare claim.  Geography not your strong point then.  Although I see it was probably just a leader to have a dig at a polititian of 30 odd years ago. What a nob.🤣

tomus: "I refer you to my previous comment - good luck reopening the coal mines." - I refer you to mine: "The coal is still under our feet we can create new mines and open existing ones where possible. Oil and gas are under the sea and land all around" - did you read that in between your leaps of illogic?

Showing willingness to being responsible is fair enough, as long as one doesn't go overboard with measures trying to appear virtuous as a result.

The issue is still those nations, and we all know the type, who are, at most, clearly only paying lip service to fixing their issue.

Ironically it is those nations that the protesters seem to leave alone while they try to cause trouble for those who are/have already taking/taken steps.
