On an ipad 9th generation there is there is a app store tab but no app tab anywhere.
This is my next door neighbours daughters ipad. I know nothing about them.
Is there a way to install/get back the app tab?

Apparently she was trying to find something on her ipad (don't know what) and googled how to do it. There was a video showing her and it pointed to an app tab. It had the app store tab but says that was above the app tab.
Until she comes home that's all I know.
Sounds like she's watched a video for android devices.
On the ipad the App Store is the icon that looks like an A made out of lolipop sticks.
If she's looking for an app she's previously installed, and not removed, then once in the App Store, click the bit inder the battery icon, then on Apps.
From there she can see whats currently installed, or she can see any apps she previously installed but subsequently removed.
Tap Search at the bottom of any Home Screen page, and type "App Store" in the Search field.
The App Store should appear in your search results; tap the app to open it. If the app has been placed in a folder, you'll see the folder name next to the App Store search result.
If you don't see the name of a folder beside the App Store, you can long-press the app and tap Add to Home Screen. (If you don't see this option, the app is already on your Home Screen.)
Scroll down to find the above. There are also other ways to reinstall of find it.

Sorry for late reply. To be honest I really don't understand what she is talking about. That said I think barry may be correct and it's an icon not a tab.
I don't even know what she needs it for, and I suspect, neither does she!
Anyway I've abandoned it, She's going to take it to her friends dad because and I quote, 'cos he's cool'.
Thanks all for your replies.
