Far too expensive for the mainly rubbish they broadcast and if they believe their service is great value for money then they will not have any problems attracting subscribers, but they probably know otherwise.
Lot's of people have already cancelled their licence, let people decide if they want it and act fairly.
tomus42, but it is enforced, The BBC is authorised by the Communications Act 2003 to collect and enforce the television licence fee. Section 363 of the Act makes it against the law to install or use a television receiver to watch or record any television programmes as they are being broadcast without a television licence.
an entertainment license from a bygone era wireless, it's not fit for the 21 century and should be disbanded, entertainment is my choice, (for the nation) if only 10.000 people watched the bbc and millions didn't were all supposed to stump up for the 10k, in billions or whatever it costs to run the bbc.
"My taxes are used to fund the roads, but I don't drive - I'll stop paying taxes then. Stunning logic from the usual suspects. "

Taxes (whether levied specifically on vehicles and fuel or other revenue) go into the General Fund.

The news article claims 'The Reform MP’s statement comes after reports this week of Sir Keir Starmer allegedly considering making people pay the TV licence fee even if they only use streaming services.'
I am saying we should still have the choice to watch only streaming services and not have to pay the licence to do so.
