monitor screen gone blue
3 Answers
Over the past 3 or 4 weeks my monitor colour has been wrong all the time, it never went normal as it used to do a few months ago. I have got used to it and intended getting a new one sometime soon. I have had the computer on for an hour or so today, and I just went to make a coffee, came back and the colour is suddenly normal! What on earth can it be?

If your practical enough with a soldering iron you could have a peek inside but DON'T if you are unsure as there are lethal voltages inside VDUs.
Also worth checking the seating of the video card in the PC (if it's a separate card), and the security of the VGA cable to the PC.
Depending on the age it may be worth getting it repaired but the price of VDUs and flatscreens probably doesn't make it economicably viable.
funny you should mention this Dot, my son's monitor is intermittently yellow and it definitely feels like it is getting too warm at the back, sometimes a whack on the side can make it come back to normal but other times it does it when it wants to! Looks like Mr Jules has a job lined up for him at the weekend now.
