I know this isn't "news" to anybody, but even when he's reading from a script, this man gets it wrong. To bolster support for his illegal wire-tapping, he described a planned attack on the "Liberty tower" in LA. Now there used to be a Library tower, now named after a bank, but never a Liberty tower. This man is an embarassment and my question is hypothetical - would he win a third term?

How did he ever win a first term?

I certainly agree with the above, so dont give the american voting public much credit for their choices and would say that he most certainly would. If he stayed in much longer maybe this might just happen

it is sooo soooo funny but a little bit of swearing in there for those that get offended by that sort of thing.

Can he count past two?Might confuse him if you mentioned third - although thankfully its not possible.

He reminds me of a Thunderbirds character but who is working him?

Actually ianess, he didn't win a first term!!!
Thanks stu. Absolutely brilliant. Quite hillarious. And Yes, Bush is an idiot no doubt!

Britain may have many faults, but at least Prime Minister's question time ensures that our leaders have to stand on their own two feet and show a modicum of intelligence. We also benefit from having broadcasters like Paxman who quiz them mercifully. I do not believe an American president would dare endure such a session with a broadcaster in the USA. US broadcasters are far too servile to their leaders.

That should be mercilessly, not mercifully. My own George W moment. Doh!!!

He gets it wrong a lot see here:

mr Bush is insane anyway ... :P
In a country where a multitude of voters favor faith over reason (based on their own reasoning ability no doubt), as they say, "All things are possible." Unfortunately, in this case, they are not so far from the truth considering who won the last election.

I actually read it as "mercilessly" Drusilla. Suppose it just proves that we all make mistakes and should give GW a break!!! You're quite correct that there's no equivalent of Jeremy Paxman over here and it might partly explain how he managed to win elections.
Stu you are right, the man is an embarassment, not only to the USA but to the Western world. He is brain damaged by alcohol abuse which gives me great cause for concern. He may be a "reformed" alcoholic but he is not cured. Dangerous for a President I think. But we have a compulsive liar as Prime Minister, which is worse?
He would not win a third term - I think two is the maximum number anyone is allowed to enter.

The whole story sounded like propaganda to me, mistakes and all. I expect we will be fed lots of similar fairy stories before we are invited to agree with another warmongering incursion into a foreign and (surprise) oil bearing land. Don't you believe that these speeches and grand pronouncements on "World Terror" campaigns are just for the USA; we in Europe are supposed to be taken in by it all as well!

Remember Robin Cook? Remember him well, a stranger in politics, a man with a conscience and a willingness to tell us the truth!

See here for some chilling words from the man himself.
