We sent back a form last year saying we would stay with British gas and promising no further price rises. Does anyone remember this? I can find no reference to it anywhere in the latest news blitz! Can anyone help??

If you are saying you signed up for a fixed price supply for a couple of years with BG, you have nothing to worry about (price-wise) until the end of your agreement period. But maybe start putting extra money away in the piggybank now because these rises are unfortunately going to affect you some day.

We just signed for Powergen, a couple of reasons for this, they gave us a capped deal, which sounds similar to the one you have with BG, at the end of the tem, I fully expect the price to go up, but we'll just have to wait and see on that, if yours is capped, they can't put the price up during its term.

The most impotant reason we switched, we have a handicapped daughter, and in the event of a power cut, if needed, they will bring a generator round, so we can have heating, light and hot food and drink for her.

The price freeze excludes certain things though. one of which being the cost of gas. BG will not increase it's price to supply you with gas but if the gas price goes up you will have to pay. Centrica have just announced a gas price rise of 22%
