Hi

Firstly a big thanks to all that helped me with my earlier questions with regards to my starter motor on my Mondeo. I finally have started the car but not without a few problems!

Firstly I added a wire to the starter motor and was able to start it direct from the battery but it does not sound so good and also I had what appears to be smoke coming from the pipe that connects direct into the ehaust on the bend that take the exhaust up into the engine, is this normal? or could it be that it has not been running for more than 4 weeks? also what is the pipe the connects to the exhaust?

The car does start via the ignition now but I am a little scared that the car might catch fire or something?

Thanks

the smoke sounds like it could be oil leeking from somewhere it is probably dripping on to the exhaust getting hot and burning off with lots of smokeif the car was sat for a while did it have antifreeze in, if not this could cause the head gasket to go or the head to crack.

hope this helps
