So,according to Sky News, our uniformed police officers will be patrolling the streets of Germany during the football world cup. As someone who contributes to the upkeep of our police ( via council tax ), I wouldn't mind seeing a policeman pass my door now and again.

There are regualry huge fights and police are often injured (I think 85 in one match aloen last year). Quite frankly, given the appalling behaviour of Italian club supporters in the past 18 months, and not forgetting the national sides supporters trying to start a war during the Scotland match, I'm disappointed that they've even been allowed to compete in the World Cup. It needs some severe action to halt the growth of this hideous component of Italian football and teh italian FA are doign sweet FA. Like the racism in Spain, UEFA have let it go on, largely unpunished and so it's getting worse and worse.
