see here for how many calories are in booze.
Soon mounts up
Alcohol of course contains calories like everything, so if you have suddenly upped your intake, it will have a reflection on your body. You can either work out the calories you are consuming and work out how much more exercise you need to do to burn it off, or you can cut down.
Unfortunately it is much harder to lose weight as we get older. Our bodies become less resillient and we gain weight easier.
Also there is a lot of sugar in alcohol, which your body is obviously getting a taste for, and is now craving. Sounds to me like you should take your mates somewhere else on a saturday night. Dancing? Bowling? Climbing? Skating??!!!
Four glasses of wine a day at 65 calories a shot is the equivalent of eating an extra breakfast every day. Sadly the weight will pile on, despite the exercise, so try and limit yourself to a maximum of two alcoholic drinks a day only at week-ends, and preferably less.
Drinking fizzy mineral water with a slice or lemon or lime will help keep things under control and will in time help reduce the craving for sweeter things which are full of calories.
Being a male the wrong side of 30 now my metabalism has obviously slowed so now and again I show more weight than I wud like, and I used to be a skinny peson till I started going to the gym a dozen years ago or so. I started drinking Guiness coz people told me it wud make me put on weght when I was about 20, which at the time I wanted to.
You being a woman, your metabalism will be slower than a males, for biological reasons. So alcohol will hit your figure.
Spirits are best for putting less weight on , however there are other risks involved with them, eg exessive drinking as there is less volume. Also the mixer will have calories unless its diet variety or water
Guiness has less calories than bitter and lager. It's a common myth that guiness has more:
