The thing i found very disturbing was the total lack of any emotion. How can you discuss the death of your daughter without getting upset?
I know it's a bit "Cluedo" to say that if it wasn't anyone else then it must have been him, but the police found no evidence of anyone being else there, did they?
Very shifty. i've always thought so and couldn't believe it when he was released.
You people obviously watched a different programme from me.
Would you go to your car and put the roof up seconds after finding your daughter dead in that horrific way i know i wouldnt.
How do you know you wouldn't? Who knows what they would do in such a situation?
Why take 2 daughters to the DIY shop JUST to get some white spirit woops no money?
That was explained clearly in the programme.
The suspect bit is all that stuttering and on certain things really emphasising what he said
Stuttering? I didn't notice any stuttering. What's wrong with emphasising things in speech? "I am not boringly monotonous, therefore I am a murderer"?
he's had years to practise his response to those questions and seemed very controlled in his speech, as if rehearsed.
You have answered your own question - he sounded controlled and rehearsed precisely because he has been repeatedly asked the same questions for the last nine years.
The thing i found very disturbing was the total lack of any emotion.
If you didn't notice any emotion then you were not watching the same programme that I watched.
How can you discuss the death of your daughter without getting upset?
He was clearly exasperated and mentally exhausted at the ordeal he has been through. Just because his daughter has been murdered does not mean that it is compulsory for him to be wailing in floods of tears for the rest of his life.
Bernardo - youre obviously entitled to your own opinion, as is everyone else.
However I personally think that a father would not leave his 2 children in the house and go to put his car roof up if he had just found his daughter dead, he had no idea who was lurking in the house, where was the murderer? Would your natural instinct not tell you to protect your family, not leave them in danger? But your right, I would deal with a situation entirely differently to someone else, so we can't really say what went through his mind.
I have to agree with the majority esp. Crisgal, he did display an alarming lack of emotion (from my point of view). Saying that I studied criminology at university, and weekly visited a maximum risk high security prison, some of the pure evil inmates there displayed nothing when being questions about their crimes, in fact they actually appeared totally normal, which is frightening.
What troubled me the most about Sion was his shiftiness upon being asked towards the end of the programme about his violence towards his ex wife and his children, he was obviously very uncomfortable and his speech did not appear as controlled as it has done thought the remainder of the programme. Obviously being accused of this on TV is not comfortable, especially when your 2 remaining daughters claim you to be a liar!
What benefit is it for them to lie....
I don't want to aggravate people, and this is very much my own personal opinion, but there is usually no smoke without fire!!
I have to say that through all of it I thought he was guilty, until I watched the programme last night.
I don't think he killed her. But I 'know' he hit his wife and kids. And what I don't get is why he didn't just come clean about it and apologise, might add more credence to his plea's of innocence.
His body language gave him away significantly when he said he didn't hit his wife or kids, I knew he was lying straight away, and then the statement from his daughters came up. Which makes me believe him more when he says he didn't kill Billy Jo.
As for the sitting in the car, I really don't think anyone can answer that unless they've found their daughter dead on the patio. Sorry to be crass, but shock is often underestimated. Oh, and he didn't leave his daughters in the house, they were with a neighbour, Trevor McDonald said that in the programme.
I have always believed that he is guilty. I have no doubts, I think his behaviour betrays him every time, my opinion is that he does not show any hint of grief or emotion of loss. I have never observed at anytime that he has shown any such emotion. Maybe he dare not because he knows it will obviously be evident as false.
If we are to believe him, then doesnt that mean the rest of his family are all lieing, for what purpose?
