So the budget reveals major new spending on education, more money for families, huge amounts spent on sporting facilities and for aspiring athletes, free bus travel for pensioners and the disabled, higher tax on environment harming vehicles, low inflation, increased growth and productivity etc.
Frankly i'm disgusted!
I blame Gordon Brown.
I'm so incensed i'm going to post something on Answerbank so everyone else can moan about it.

I thought you wern't predjudiced Gary? But you are right, Labour suck, and he did what I expected, they are screwing us for more money. But I do agree with the way they are going to heavily tax SUV's, they are too big for the average waller, they can't even park them properly, totally anti-social! Especially X5 drivers, they are totally aggressive and quite a lot of them are an accident waiting to happen the way they tailgate people, sorry for rambling on, this is a motoring issue, but you did say moan!

As for all the other stuff, I'll believe it when I see it, they've had 9 years to deliver on some of the stuff they promised when first elected, and we are still waiting. By the way, Strathclyde pensioners have had free travel since 2002!

As of the end of this month, everyone over the age of 60 gets free BUS travel throughout the whole of Scotland. I received my pass the other day, but I'm not sure whether I want to travel on a bus to Kent or Cornwall, (beautiful though they are) at 67 years of age. The cost of b&b would be prohibitive, I think, but I suppose the thought is there.

What doesn't surprise me, however, is this old stuff about Scots in the government. The story about copper wire shows the intellectual level of certain AB members. I assumed the idea of the News topic was a sensible discussion of the news, and not for the schoolboy humour of some of our more childish members. Try again bluejonjo?

It was a joke, but seeing as your the all seeing eye can you tell me this cos I'd really like to know:

Why is it that now Scotland has its own devolutionised Government, (its own bills for education and local taxation) that so many Scotish MP's still vote in matters that have no relevance to Scotland? (I'm talking about the top up fees bill)

When and how....in some future date the spending on per pupil in state schools will match those of spending by private schools. in the future, unspecified date and with no evidence of where the money is coming from. In the future at one unspecified date the spending will match that of private schools today. so in 2011 it will match the spending of 2006. Oh you are a gullible lot arent you.

Free bus travel for pensioners........read free local bus travel for pensioners. No you cant go from kent to Scotland for free.You gullible people. Put that in your pipe and smoke as you pay the increased prescription charges.

Read the facts Dom.There will be free off-peak national bus travel for pensioners and disabled people from April 2008.
People over 60 will have free local bus travel from 1st April this year and anyone over 60 does not pay for prescriptions anyway.

As for property that has soared in value ....try telling that to some young people who cannot get a foot on the property ladder and haven't a hope of ever owning a home .
