Dont you just hate it when a gossip mag / newspaper/ webpage says " Guess who is hiding a secret cocaine habit/ having a gay fling/ is a secret transvestte?" or similar inferences? What is the point if they do not name them? You could fill up lots of space that way without having to do any research.

Obvious answer - but if we dont buy into it then the publishers will soon realise we are not all half-wits:)

they're saying 'We have a great piece of gossip!' They're also saying 'But, er, we don't actually know it's true so we don't dare print it.' This doesn't always stop publications: this week I see hefty damages awards to Wayne Rooney and Noel Edmonds, and Nigel Havers suing the Express for making up quotes from him.

Quite often it is obvious who it is - the ones in the 3am pages of The Mirror often have a "pun" hidden with a clue to who it is.

Well of course these magazines only use these tantalising headlines to sell more copies. Don't fall for it. Just don't buy them. Life won't stop for you just because you don't read them.
