I dont want to sound nasty or anything but what is the point of gossip magazines? I couldnt care less which celebrity has sweaty armpits or is wearing 'yesterdays' trousers etc.

As a bbc commentater said during the commonwealth games..........The Australians love their sports people, the English seem to love their b list celebrities, now that is sad!
Hi.
There does seem to be hundreds of these magazines. I kind of flick through now and again but most of it is so so boring. I don't care how many bags Posh Spice has got ???? why would anyone care. Thats the bit I don't get about them. Who really honestly cares about how many handbags Posh has got. I guess its kind of harmless but when you read things like 'SPOTTED Richard Madley spotted filling his car with petrol at the Shell filling station in Essex' well that beggers belief about who would really care about that. Come on is anyone reading this that would be bothered even looking at RM filling his car up with petrol. ???
I'd say you were wrong Toureman. I'm not sure what you class as a sad life as I don't just spend all my time reading these mags. As I said they are my form of escapism from when I am having a breather from my degree. I am genreally interested in other people's lives and I'm also doing a course in counselling. Something I wouldn't really class as sad.
I understand we've all got a point of view but don't lable people just because you don't do it yourself. We've all got different ways of relaxing and mine's getting stuck into a good mag :-)
Hi.
Well I buy all sorts of mags. Essentials, SHE, New Woman, Red... to name but a few. I have been known to buy OK if there is something of interest in there. BUT I mostly flick through it in W H Smith, read the bits I am interested in and then walk away. I can't be doing with the constant rubbish about Jordan and that flamin Kerry Katonia and who she is marrying now. Grrrrr now that really gets on my nerves. What I hate is the pointless stuff about spotting someone eating a burger outside a shop ??? who cares.... but I do like to read interviews with certain people I take a slight interest in.
