Isn't a person who has lost many years of their life being subject to the appaling injustice of a life ruined,humiliation and being treated like a common criminal, in a living hell, just as much a victim of crime as well as a miscarraige of justice?

Some victims of miscarriages of justice , but not all, do get some financial compensation.
Doesnt seem right does it?

it is a worrying story - not just because of the cut of compensation for wrongful detention but also because it hints at the scale of the problem where the innocent are convicted (presumably while the guilty walk the streets)... obviously the law isn't perfect but there has to be consequences when mistakes are made, damages being a suitable one.

could it be that the reason compensation payments for victims of miscarriages of justice are being cut is that there are many more to come and thats how this gov will find the compo money?........not that i am cynical or anything.......lol

these people are as much a victim of a crime as any other victim, but then this gov aint much bothered about victims, they are too busy helping the poor unfortunate offenders who were prob not given cornflakes for breakfast when they were children

If a person wrongly denied their freedom is not a victim of a crime, state sponsored at that, then I don't know what constitutes a crime against the individual.
