Crazy laws
Does anything better illustrate the craziness of our legal system than todays news that the Attorney General,no less, has appealed against the sentences given to the Baby Rapers. His appeal ? The sentences are too short. They got Life ,for God's sake. How ca Life be too short? Because it ,doesn't mean Life ! So why call it Life and make the Law an ASS?

They can be brought back to jail at any time during the rest of their life, even if they haven't committed a further offence - and this does happen.
The appeal is based on the Attorney General's view that the mimimum term to be served in jail is too low. I agree with him.
I don't think this is an illustration of the craziness of our legal system. All it shows is that individual judges can make mistakes - and that there is a system for rectifying those mistakes. Makes sense to me.
I read somewhere that peadophiles get cups of urine thrown at them when they're in prison. Good on the other prisoners i say!
As for the Life sentence, I believe we should go down America's route of when the prisoner is sentenced to life imprisonment, then that is what it literally means. The convict must stay in prison untill they die.
