So the sickos who who were out away for this have been back in court. Her (French) sentance has remained at five years and his (Webster) has been upped from six years to eight. Do they seriously thing that this is any better than the original sentances?
What do you all think about these updated sentances and what should they have got? Your views please.

the thing is jail is no deterent these days. One small cell, one meal a day, and no tv, visitors or other perks. Leave them alone to think of the reasons why they are there. 20 years or more for what they both did. her as well. Never mind she was under his influence. She new what she was doing and what he was doing was wrong, wrong, wrong.
lets hope the cell doors get left open and he finds out just what the other prisoners think of him.
that why these sort of people commit suecide. They don't want to do the time.
So jail is 'no deterent', yet it's bad enough for 'these people to commit suicide'.
I think that we put far to much influence on the issue of deterrent. We know the US has capital punishment and a huge murder rate, so it's no deterrent. We have prisons that are either claimed to be far too easy by some, or are so bad that as euphraxia says people commit suicide. Arrogance on the behalf of any criminal that they can beat the system, often means that they're unconcerned about the repurcussions. In other cases the desire to perform they're criminal act is so strong that they'll never even consider the consquences.
Prison should be there in the majority of cases to rehabilitate and punish at the same time. In the minority of cases such as this one, it is there purely to keep the public safe from evil people whom will never be able to change.
I don't hope that they're murdered, tortured, beaten up or executed by the state. I just want to know that they're kept away from all our vulnerable children, and we never have to think about them again.
