Another premature release from Prison
7 Answers
So, once again an anonymous donor has come forward with the money and paid a woman's council tax debt to release her from prison. She's apparently very angry and says it was never about the money (she has always had enough to pay with) but she's simply refused as she doesn't feel she's getting a good service from her local council. She had chosen to go to prison.
When will these do-gooders release they are a pain in the backside paying other people's debts in these circumstances?

i think it's wonderful that this silly self-important woman is starved of the oxygen of publicity and perhaps now she'll start making her protests like everyone else - by writing to her Council / MP / local / national media, getting a petition, or simply accepting that she cannot dictate the way Council funds are spent much as she - and all of us - would like to, it;s not how the system operates.
And she is apparently intelligent enough, and certainly old enough - to know better.

So you don't think she has a right to protest the way she wishes to then? Despite the fact she's not actually hurting anyone! That 'silly self-important woman' is trying to make a difference in a way she has an absolute right to - as long as she's prepared to take the consequences (imprisonment).
Have you actually read somewhere that's she's made no attempt to write to or telephone her local council/MP and that her first course of action was to refuse to pay? I don't remember reading that anywhere!

If the consequences of her chosen method of protest are imprisonment, then she obviously doesn't have the right to protest in that way!
This is a strange one. I thought it served her right when she was jailed for breaking the law, and now I'm thinking it serves her right that she's been released and will no longer be a cause celebre of the Daily Wail. How very odd.
Silly self-important woman? Yeah, I'd say that's pretty fair
