Would it be a good idea to create some form of universal army that is deployed to settle violent disputes. It seems that global politics is pretty much as the same level as the playground so where is the stern looking teacher that pulls the two apart.
I think it would be seriously useful to have such a device as it means that situations like the current crisis in Israel just would not happen as this unviversal army would just assemble along the border acting as a buffer between the two states.
Isn't the UN supposed to be a little like that? Doesn't always work though as it seems some countries go ahead and do what they want whether with UN approval or not.
the problem of a universal army would be who would have ultimate control of it? would it be run by the richest countries, the most christian countries, the whitest countries
, etc?
We have exactly that - the UN. Unfortunatly, as pointed out by goldenboy and dizzieblonde, too much power is wielded by the likes of Nato countries in the UN, and the UN's effectivly hamstrung by this
