I think it's because the goverment have taken all the power away from the Monarchy. She acts as like a figureheard on a old ship or a mascott for the UK.

I think the only things we can bring back to save this country are Borstal and Noel's House Party.

A newt is an amphibian creature of the family salamandridae. It lives mainly in the water and does not drink alcohol. The simile 'drunk as a newt' makes as much sense as saying that the Queen should find faults that the Leader of the Opposition cannot find.

I think you will find the constitution of Britain forbids the Queen from making many political decisions. The French monarchy refused to make such concessions with their parliament a few hundred years ago and look what happened to them.
