Never underestimate the quiet man working away in the background, efficiently running the country and thwarting terrorist threats while his supposed "leader" is sunning himself on holiday in the Carribean. Isn't the UK fortunate to have such a magnificent second-in -command? Just who is the American vice-president anyway?

He is only slightly worse than our commander in chief..however I wouldn't trust him to give a speech to the local primary school, let alone giving him the authority to get us through this. We are all doomed, I fear.

I would spout off about the Carribean holiday, but won't waste my breath.

And our Foreign Secretary is sunning herself in a caravan somewhere while Israel and Lebanon bomb each other to bits. But as she doesn't know anything about foreign affairs anyway, what's the point of appointing her in the first place.

I recognise that politicians are entitled to have holidays but not in the middle of major world crises. Winston Churchill didn't toddle off to the Carribean or Chiantishire every summer during the six years of WW2.
