Is it ALWAYS the innocent civilians who have to suffer? and yes, thats on both sides of the conflict. We saw it in the 70/80s with the IRA.

Surely there are enough viable military installations for the terrorists to target.

All we want to do is go about our daily business without the fear of our loved ones being killed by a terrorist bomb.

Is pulling our troops out the answer? Has this worked for Spain after the Madrid bombings?

Not a lot of people would feel terrorised if they knew that only military targets would be attacked. It would be the equaivalent of school teachers going on strike during the summer holidays - no one would notice / care.

Don't forget though, that more people die in road traffic accidents every day than will die in a terrorism every year.

The aim of terrorism is to make the target terrorise themselves with draconian changes to their lives, QED airports this week. 911 used up hijacking as a viable weapon of terror but we still can't take a pair of nail clippers on to a plane. We do the terror to ourselves, the effect of the initial bombs etc is tiny compared to what we do to ourselves. That's why civilians are targeted. Politicians react to public opinion so they take measures that they think the public want, not necessarily useful.

johnnythebosh - many people (myself NOTincluded) that those in cars are murdered - by speeding (why have cars capable of more than 70?) by drink driving etc.

It takes a fairly warped sick mind to travel in a car at over the prescribed speed limit - but it happens daily by the majority of the population.

You can't compare people speeding to terrorists deliberatlely setting out to murder innocent people.
While speeding does contribute to deaths in a few cases, the drivers don't set out with the intent to kill people because they disagree with their way of life or their governments actions. If the terrorists hadn't been stopped the other day then there could have been close to 10'000 deaths.
Your comparison can only be regarded as at best ill judged, at worst offensive.
I realise that you are on the side of the extremists who are attacking us but for gods sake come up with a better comparison than that.

Firslty Johnny, I find it very offensive that you think I am a supporter of theses extremeists - but I guess that since you can't debate rationally, you have to revert to name calling.

If you want a better example:

Harold Shipman (a white middle class doctor) killed / murdered around 250 people. This was a deliberate act and almost 5 times the amount of people killed by the 7th July bombers.

Lets kill all middle class white doctors in case it happens again.
