The next time you preach to the Western world about poverty and expect us working classes to dig deep, make sure your wild child daughter is not photographed spending her overinflated allowance on nose candy. Or is it fair trade drugs?

Firstly she's almost an adult, but I suppose only the kids of celebs go off the rails - right?
Secondly, what the hell is her behaviour to do with her dad's work?
Thirdly, I reckon he sleeps well at night.

Get over yourself and your petty minded opinion
I'm not a huge Bob Geldhof or Bono fan myself ( I find them patronising and self important), but whatever his teenage daughter does is, as Whickerman says, nothing to do with him at her age.If you want to take any notice of what he says then do so, if not then don't, but niether his preaching, nor yours matters a jot. We've all got our own consience about what we do, what we give, how we live our lives and what is acceptable to us and whether or not we care about a larger world than the one in which we immediately inhabit.No-one can give us that, not Bob Geldhof and not you so I wish you'd both just contemplate your own sensibilities and act accordingly.

Ok, I didn't post what I meant to say. No adult is 100% responsible for a 17 year old and he doesn't have eyes in the back of his head.

But if - if - newspaper reports are true and that he funds her 600 a month allowance, I find it a teensy bit galling that he preaches to people who don't have celeb contacts or tv production companies to give over their hard-earned cash. Bob has my respect for getting together Live Aid and being a parent to his daughter's half sister but he's far from a saint. Let's stop painting him as one.
I uderstand the point you are trying to make NikkiB :) It would be nice to see those who choose to preach to also lead by example.
bob geldoff is a good bloke, and he does what he preaches, he saw what needed to be done and got off his backside and did it, of course he's not a saint, he's human. and he took on paula's daughter when she died, he is a normal man who cares about people and humanty , please dont knock someone with a heart of gold. what did nikkib do to help humanity?
i understand your point, and if it was one of the other overblown celebs who are paid to preach to us, then waste money like its water on a crap and extravagance, i would agree with you, but bob can hardly be accused of being all mouth, can he?
he doesn't wear bling, throw fancy bashes, take lavish holidays etc
how many other millionaire celebs have actually got off their arses and done something?
the most some of them have ever done is spend 5 minutes speaking into a camera asking us for money, and think they've 'done their bit'.

of all the celebs you could call selfish, bob is probably the absolute least selfish of them all

and besides, 150 a week is not really that much for a millionaires daughter - its much less than the average wage packet.

All said & done ... he has raised a lorra lorra lolly for charity, despite being a scraggy bar-steward.
Bl00dy good job midge ure dont want the recognition he doesnt get with band aid aint it?
The life he leads is separate from that of his children. Why should his work/reputation be tarred because of his daughter's mistake (who if 17 would be considered repsonsible for her own actions)?

Also, most parents would want to provide for their children as much as they could, and if they happen to be rich, then obviously, the children would get a bigger portion... nothing wrong/hypocritical about that.
just galls me that regardless how good and decent a bloke is, we can't wait to knock him down.
It's part of the culture to knock down anybody that is doing something decent and Bob Geldof's is no exception to this. However, the subject concerned here is not him but his daughter. Yet we go at great lenghth to knock these people. How truely sad! But if you feel strong to criticise him I would start with certain politicians and put them on the spotlight not him.
Who cares, is his daughter fit ?
Whether or not his daughter shoves stuff up her hooter to me is irrelevant. It's also irrelevant that photographers see fit to snap them doing it, and even more irrelevant that muppets buy the dross magazines that print this kind of cack.
His money, his daughter, her nose. Not in the slightest interested.
I have exactly the same attitude with Love Island, Big Brother, Soaps, and especially that junked up git who's seeing that Moss wench.
My electric bill is more relevant to me than what any of these so called celebs get up to. I don't give a monkeys.
Here here Andy Boz!
Totally agree.
