Where do you stand politically?

Just wanted to ask everyone, which political party do you support? Where do you stand politically? (eg to the left, right, centre, left of centre etc) and why? Has your political stance changed as you have got older or remained the same?

As admarlow says, politics in general is becoming more and more right-wing - s/he presumably thinks this is some sort of solution, but I see it as a vicious circle: the worse things get, the more right-wing people become, the worse things get, et cetera. The Greens are the one party that actually seems to want to break that cycle.
Well I find it difficult to place myself in the one dimensional model, most would probably say I'm right wing and I think in some areas I'd go along with that but in other areas I'm probably hard line socialist. Try this 2d model, read the explanation first and then do the test. Interestingly Hitler doesn't come out extreme right but does come out as very authoritarian. Give it a go:

I was always a hard line leftie and I do believe in the fundamental principles of socialism, but sadly the "new" labour party are now slightly right of Margaret Thatcher, to such a degree that I'm horrified to say there is a good chance at the next election I might for the first time ever vote Tory because they are more left wing! I cannot believe that we have been so betrayed in our common freedoms by the Labour party with their ideas of ID cards and now sanctions against young single parents.I believe in his interview tonight , the nation witnessed the descent of Tony Blair into utter insanity, as he attempts to interfere in the most sacrosanct of freedoms, the choice to parent our children individually. So I'm going to be a Tory voting communist! So there!
