The Daily Mail
How does the Daily Mail get away with being so overtly racist, if a news program said a fraction of the things they do it would be taken off the air, yet its been going on for years. How do they get away with it?

The Daily Mail also has an absolutely awful attitude to single mothers, I stopped buying it about 4 years ago and give anyone who reads it (i.e my mum) a very hard time. I am a single mother therefore my child will underachieve and ultimately turn to crime, no questions asked - I bloody hate the mail with a vengence!!

Isn't anyone going to try and defend the Mail then? Or do we all find their Political and Moral views so abhorrant that no-one is even prepared to do that much??? I wonder how many users are actually aware of the fact it is the Mail that is the parent company of the site then Einstein? and I agree with the middle england comments unfortunately the herd will go where they are all too often led.
I buy the Daily Mail everyday, I am not racist. I don't buy a paper everyday for it's political bias nor it's media coverage content. I buy a paper because it's crossword puzzle's me daily, so doe's its "Letter's to correspondance" of which may be likened to this site. And sports coverage. To best honest, I've bought the paper everday for years and still did'nt realise it was racist. Still thats the way daily's work. Sales become predictable/typical. Mr. Sft42 I think in my case Ignorance is bliss.
I buy the Mail most days. In its defence it does bring up subjects which many people are too afraid to. Mention immigration and 'you're a racist'. Mention youth crime and 'you don't understand the little angels'. Mention issues with Europe and 'you're a Xenophobe'. This is not the way to deal with or solve problems now or in the future. If any government is unwilling to tackle difficult issues it shouldn't be in Government. If Government ducks the difficult issues someone somewhere will pick up on it and raise it as an issue. The OTT approach is a way to get the issue raised and obviously sell papers. I certainly don't believe that the people who run it are racist. I do believe that people are entitled to have a view on a given subject and should not be shouted down because it some cases it is not politically correct. Not allowing debate and discouraging people from raising issues encourages extremism from both the left and the right. This is certainly not beneficial to society.
It's knee-jerk journalism for people who sneer at the Sun but wish to read something equally (or more) insidious and salacious. I also don't believe the people who run it are racist, but they write for people who are - not the sort of people who would commit a violent act against someone, but who have a little Englander's nasty notions of superiority over 'our colonial chums'. It's a rag.
Just because it speaks up about and on behalf of a subject that the vast majority of people in this country are scared to speak about for fear of being branded racist you dont like it.
Its a shame that a lot more people arent prepared to question the direction this counry is heading in.
At least someone is standing up for this country and its culture, do you have a problem with it , ? where do you people get off ?
To answer sft42 it is no surprise that defenders of The Mail are thin on the ground. Under the Government's definition anyone tainted with accusations of racism IS racist. No right of reply. Understandably people are a little wary of defending anyone with this taint lest they too be branded racist. I do not believe the correct way to conduct a national debate is to consider one side of the argument but to ignore any different opinion on the grounds that it is racist. I am aware that The Mail can seem preoccupied with issues of asylum but I do not believe it should be condemmed for raising controversial subjects.
Whilst embodying everything I despise with its NIMBY, Little-Johnny-Englander attitude, I have to say that for what it is, The Mail is a very good newspaper. It does it's job very well. The ideal rag for people that have a irrational fear of crime, single mothers, asylum seekers, The BBC and garlic-munching euro-crats in Brussels.
On a slightly different note, why does Rupert Murdoch via the Sun, have such a staunch oppostiion to the Euro? He's an Australian, with US citizenship...he doesn't even personally pay taxes in Europe?
