Soldiers in Iraq

why cant our goverment co-operate with the new democratic Iraq and hold a ballot to see if the people still want to have our soldiers out there? For the labour government it will prove there is a democracy out there and they have succeded in one way, and it will prove to the muslim comunity that we are trying to make a difference.

I think the new elected leader should anounce a referendum on just that subject and go with the majority -

They didn't listen to the protests before sending our troops to war why should they listen now?

Sorry misread the question! But the Government won't do it because they are always right!
