Why is it that some people on AB refer to Daily Mail readers in a scarcastic and condescending manner? My parents get the DM and it is packed full of the latest news and has a great letters page. My mother in law gets The Mirror. It is very thin and the same sort of news items are covered but in a more simplistic manner. Both papers tend to slag off the government. The letters page is very poor too in The Mirror. I believe this AB site is an offshoot of The Daily Mail.
Some self-righteous people think they have such high moral ground and denounce certain others as "Urgh, Daily Mail reader".
Clearly they are unaware of the irony. To tar the reader of any publication in a certain manner is the work of prejudice, something the Self righteous usually scream in distress about.
The current TV ad for the Express tells us that it is the paper of "traditional" values. The owner of the Express Richard Desmond made his fortune from pornography.
Am I missing something here.?
Daily Mail launched an Irish version of its paper earlier this year. It is priced at 50 cent, the cheaptest title in the "quality" market. It is certainly the best "read" in the Irish market - great coverage of local sport, superb pictorial coverage, interesting news pages and interesting columnists. Yeah, all that surprises me; I would not be a typical "Mail" reader.
