Programme: "F*** Off, I'm Fat"

Has anyone else caught this programme?
Its on BBC Three i think at around 11/12 at night...

No offence to anyone overweight or obese.... but i think its the most ridiculous programme ive seen in a long time....

The presenter basically goes around and tests different things to see if they are suitable for "fat" people.

e.g. - rollarcoaster rides, clothes stores etc etc...

He started having a go at some kinda young supervisor at a Theme Park because he had to queue up for an hour or so to find he was too "fat" to fit on the ride...and tried to argue that he shouldve been able to queue jump etc etc

anyway, my point is..... its obvious his little gang and himself are way too overweight - why doesnt he just bloody try doing some excercise and eat healthy!!!

I cant believe he got allowed his own show...

Anyone else seen it? Opinions?

if you'd watched the whole program you'd of heard him say it takes more than a diet and exercise to lose weight. all he is trying to do is change the way people think. and get society to accept fat people more.

He was out of breath just from trying to carry that stupid "toilet for fat people" into its trailer.

Has it not occured to you that he may be very happy with his body weight. Just because someone is overweight does not mean they should have to lose it just to please societies views of them. I am overwight and have no intention of losing it as I am very happy the way I am.

OK if he's happy then thats great.

But he cant expect privileges within society just because he choses to be overweight.

Oh and he's obviously not that happy if he's decided to make a programme about lack of facilities for people overweight.

I agree with you nat. Actually I am overweight - not by much but feel lousy and need to lose some!That is nothing to do with the views of society, but helps me to feel better about myself.
The strain these people put on themselves and the medical systems are huge. The expense to treat them when their bodies cannot cope with that strain is as immense as they are !
He is obviously not happy with the fact that there are not enough facilities for fat people - but then there are not enough facilities for people with special needs or people with cancer in this world. Those are the people who can't do anything about their conditions (unless smoking etc related) so in the bigger picture, I think Mr Tubby would do well to stop whinging and do a bit of exercise while he still has the chance !That's what I intend to do .

This is a tricky one as on the one hand i believe that everyone has the right to live their life the way they want to within the boundaries of the law obviously and as long as they cause no offence to other people but on the other hand obese people seem to think that the world owes them a favour because theyve made themselves that size - their choice.

It is not always their fault that they are overweight. I take medication for several conditions that make me gain weight. If I stop taking the medication I will die but if I take it I will gain weight. Even if I eat nothing but salad and exercised for 10 hrs a day it will not change. My doctor has told me that. The guy on the program was just trying to show that people should be more tolerant towards others.

larkin - u make a good point about general facilities with people with illnessess etc.

bagpuss - Sorry to hear about ur medical condition.

However, this guy is not trying to make excuses for people with medical conditions, he is making an excuse for obese individuals that i personally believe havent really attempted to lose weight.

He isnt making a programme about people trying to be more "tolerant" either. Its a programme of self pity and i think what he's doing will only seperate society even more.
