I thought to myself with this latest problem of the veil what a great opportunity for the muslim council to say - ""OK girls, stop wearing the veil ,stick to the headscarf if necessary ,as the full veil does offend/intimidate some people here in the UK"" . What a move towards better understanding that would be !
No jump79 I will not get over it. Many people get all agitated about the CIA funding and supporting Bin Laden in the 80s, but the point is that that was then and now is now.
If you dismiss the one, you have to dismiss the other.
What are you going to vote btw ? I do find this extraordinarily interesting from my British armchair.
Whiffey, Who I vote/ how I vote in the next general election it's it's my business and none of yours. I can tell you though that once I have voted I will come back and take a sit on my cosy armchair and reflect over the next 4 years. I suggest you do the same but not dream too much about the happy old days. That was Britain then and that's the way it is now. You get over it.
Hope you haven't dozed off in your big comfy armchair, maybe if you got up once in a while to buy a proper newspaper, you wouldnt have such out-dated delusions about the so-called 'great' leaders of today.
Go on, share some of your views, make my day (lol)...
Juddlinski - I take on board what you say but I think you miss the point most of the time.
Our first veiled policewoman may yet be to come as may be our first television newsreader wearing the veil (unfortunate for lipreaders). One point I forgot to make, should a veiled woman be allowed to take the driving test without first being identified as the person taking the test?
Whiffey, the bombing of Dresden, and other German cities, was not pleasant but it was essential in the ending of WWII. And don't forget the Germans started it.
