Spellmaster, (deeper voice, eyebrow raised) were those deliberate mistakes? You do tickle me.

Why don't you surf elsewhere if the standard of language used upsets you so much? You cannot fail to sound as though you must talk in those Thattherite tones - you know, speaking slowly and in a modulated voice, as though every journalist is an eight-year-old with a personality defect. I cannot believe you are as pompous and sour as you sound - why not lighten up? It's summer, people love to visit here and chat, and hey, if it wasn't for the dreaded America, you wouldn't have a WWW to get snotty on! Can we drop it now?
Listen andy, this question was clearly address specifically to me, so I think I have every right to post a reply, don't you, especially as it is, in your words, a democractic site (or is it just democratic for people who agree with andy hughes?). You saw the title of the question, so you could very easily have taken the advice you give so readily to others and just ignored it, but no, you chose to open up this question. If you open up a question addressed to me, then you can expect to find a reply from me.
Incidentally, it was a British scientist who invented the WWW as we know it. And just because the Americans have done some wonderful things, that doesn't mean the rest of the world has to become American too. Your problem is you have no pride, no self respect, just a pathetic eagerness to slavishly follow whatever the Americans do, and then, when someone says they don't actually want to be American, you imply they are hostile to or anti-American, which is nonsense. People like you make me sick.
Spellmaster, I'm sorry I make you sick. Your sweeping generalisations concerning my attitudes to America are interesting - but then as an American born and bred, you just forgive me for having a slightly biased view on this. I do expect a reply from you on a qeustion aimed at you - I don't expect you to be rude and offesnve to me, or others. I said I can't imagine you are as pompous and sour as you sound - can I chnage that? I didn't imagine that you were pompous and sour - and I don't now - you seem keen to point it out as a fact!
Yes it is rude to call someone pompous and sour, but if you re-read my first answer, you'll see that I didn't. What i said was "I can't imagine you are as pompous and sour as you sound ..." which doesn't call Spellmaster anything. I did revise my opinion in my second answer, but only after I was directly insulted - as hisotry of this Site shows, anyone who attacks another Visitor is fair game for a response. Hopefully this issue has been laid to rest - I for one am doing no more bickering with Spellmaster - we must simply agree to differ, especially where my 'sloppy thinking' is concerned!
