I find it frustating that when a British tourist is killed abroad the news reports automatically assume that the Tourist was a model citizen. They interview the parents and friends who talk of the dead person in glowing terms (of course they would) and blame the foreign police/people/cultures etc. the same happens when someone is involved in drug trafficking. the assumption is always that we are right and the foreigners are wrong. The chap who was killed in India is now known to have had a caution for growing cannabis in the UK. The indian police said he was a cannabis dealer. Yet the local and national media is full of how he was a budding actor and great guy. Does anyone think that the reporting is too one sided.....

A caution for cannabis? Good lord, the man's positively Satanic! You'll be saying he occasionally broke wind on the tube next.
They do not always. I had a friend who was killed abroad, and the press coverage was deplorable. More or less blame her for being a woman on her own for getting herself killed, and her husband for letting her.
